Frequently Asked Questions
Updated 7/8/20

What programs/activities/amenities will be available?
The Center Tennis Courts, Pool, and Fitness Areas (limited group ex classes, cardio, and circuit training) are to be available.
The locker rooms are closed, and we will not allow changing or showering onsite. However, restrooms are available at the Youth Locker Rooms (families may use the restroom during their Family Rec. Swim time together, otherwise, the restrooms are to be used by one member at a time.)
The Center adult locker rooms, sauna, steam, basketball court, and Child Care will remain closed until further notice. Additionally, no food, snack, coffee, or any food services until further notice. Only house charges e.g. no cash transactions.
Do I need to wear a face mask while working out?
Face masks will be required of all Center staff and members while at the Center except
when exercising.
What are your social distancing guidelines while at the Center?
We are asking all members to maintain a 6-foot distance between themselves and
others at the Center. We have implemented procedures to help ensure these
distancing guidelines are respected including visual reminders, area closures, and
staff to monitor and enforce these rules.
What else is the staff doing to keep the Center clean?
All employees and members are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
where applicable, and we require that members wear a face covering (not N-95 or
medical masks, which should be reserved for healthcare workers). Staff conducts
regular (i.e., every 2 hours) disinfecting of high-touch surfaces, equipment and
common areas of the facility using disinfectant cleaning supplies according to CDC
guidelines. We have Center staff cleaning all open areas throughout the day, and doing
a deep clean every night after closing.
Who can come back onsite during the Center Reopening?
Only active adult members e.g. paying 50% or more of their monthly/annual dues may
come onsite to the Center. Members on hold e.g. paying 0% of their monthly/annual
dues may continue to access our online programs only. Only active adult members
with Center-approved reservations for the Center Tennis Courts and Pool will be
allowed onsite at this time. No guests will be allowed onsite at this time.
When will the rest of the Center programs and activities be open?
We follow the San Mateo Health Office and the Center SPECS requirements (social
distancing, personal protective equipment, equipment usage, and cleaning protocols)
to determine the best path to re-opening the other parts or the rest of the Center.
Once plans are in place, we will notify members.
